Larry Rideout is the Chairman and Co-Owner of Gibson Sotheby’s International Realty, with more than three decades of experience in building real estate companies throughout New England.

Rideout began his career as a real estate agent in 1984 and rose through the ranks in New England before transitioning into Franchise Business Development for Cendant Corporation (now Anywhere Real Estate, Inc.) in 1999. Over his tenure, Rideout earned top honors from the company four times. 

In 2006, Rideout purchased Gibson Domain and transitioned the company into an affiliate of the Sotheby’s International Realty brand. Under his leadership, the company evolved from 55 associates and $250 million in sales volume to more than 450 associates and $3.6 billion in sales volume in 2022. The same year, the company was the #1 Massachusetts-based real estate company.

Rideout is guided by a core of family values and believes that the leadership team one surrounds themselves with is the greatest factor in determining agent success. He has built a brokerage culture that champions agent collaboration and opportunities to learn and is an expert at effectively growing and scaling real estate teams.

Rideout currently serves as a Director Emeritus for the Woburn Public Library Foundation, a Director of the Greater Boston Association of REALTORS®, a Commissioner of the Woburn Housing Authority, and a member of the Woburn Chamber of Commerce and the Woburn Host Lions International Club.
